Evidence of the role biofilm plays in hard-to-heal wounds continues to mount. Against a backdrop of the increased cost – both human and financial – it is important that clinicians have the skills needed to identify and treat chronic wounds and know when it is necessary to refer the patient on to specialist care.

The Biofilm Best Practice Statement aims to aid clinicians’ day-to-day practice by providing an easy-to-follow guide to the principles of treating biofilm within the context of holistic wound care.
