Quick Guide: duomed® soft 2easy®

duomed soft 2easy is a ground-breaking solution to compression hosiery acceptance designed by Dr Robert Lister, a UK dermatologist, who recognised a worrying trend among his patients of not wearing their one piece garments due to difficulties getting them on and off, especially for those who struggled to bend down or had dexterity issues.

Compression therapy is considered the gold-standard treatment for venous leg ulcers (VLUs) and is known to improve healing and reduce recurrence, as well as reducing symptoms, such as swelling (Harding et al, 2015). However, many patients find one piece compression garments difficult to put on and remove.

Dr Lister decided to take matters into his own hands and invented a unique two piece compression hosiery system — a calf sleeve and anklet — which can be easily manoeuvred over a patient’s foot.

Collaborating with medi UK to develop and manufacture the idea into a product that can be used by patients, duomed soft 2easy is now available on prescription.

It has been proven that treatment is more successful if the individual patient is happy with their prescribed treatment and engaged in their own care (WUWHS, 2020).
