The Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has been selected by the Health Foundation, an independent charity, to be part of a £3.5 million their Scaling Up Improvement Programme. The charity selected seven projects in the UK, supporting them to accelerate their proven health care interventions and approaches to increase their positive impact on patient outcomes. Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust will receive up to £0.5 million for their pressure ulcer prevention programme, which supports people with high levels of frailty and underlying health conditions in community settings to get access to specialist support. Tissue Viability Nurse Consultant Nicci Aylward-Wotton, winner of Wounds UK’s free paper session at Harrogate 2016 said: “This work will help everyone involved to look at how we can support and help patient care with preventing pressure ulcers in the community, with independent valuation partners (CEDAR) who will look to assess our levels of success. This will make a huge difference to patient care in Cornwall, Southampton, Torbay and Plymouth Community Trusts.”
