Are we overcomplicating pressure ulcer risk assessment?

Risk assessment is a key component of any pressure ulcer (PU) prevention strategy and is mentioned in both national and international guidelines (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence [NICE], 2014; National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel [NPUAP] European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel [EPUAP] and Pan Pacific Pressure Injury Alliance [PPPIA], 2014) with standards being set around how quickly it should occur.
