Last Thursday, the Chief Nursing Officer for England Ruth May presented Fiona Downie, Tissue Viability Nurse Consultant at the Royal Papworth Hospital with the Gold Award for her lifetime’s work in preventing pressure ulcers, reducing surgical site infections and her role in nurse education. She’s been praised for being an experienced and enthusiastic speaker, author of many wound care articles and true role model for nurses as well as a passionate advocate for her patients. Huge congratulation from all of us at Wounds UK, we could not be prouder.
