				<title>2nd Wounds International Global Conference</title>

				<description><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-size: 9pt;">Following the huge success of our inaugural conference in Cape Town, South Africa in 2011, we are delighted to announce that Wounds International is supporting the&nbsp;</span><a style="font-size: 9pt;" href="http://www.mswcp.org/blog">Malaysian Society of Wound Care Professionals</a><span style="font-size: 9pt;">&nbsp;(MSWCP) in its development of an international wound care conference in one of Asia's most vibrant and exciting destinations &ndash; Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia.</span></p>
<p>The conference will focus on advances in wound care and will meet the continuing educational needs of healthcare professionals delivering care in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. The programme will build on current wound care knowledge and skills by bringing together international and local clinicians to share their experiences and best practice in this hugely important area of healthcare.</p>
<p><span>The MSWCP, led by President Dr Harikrishna K R Nair, will be hosting this conference and Wounds International is honoured to be involved in Asia's biggest and most exciting wound care event of 2013. The MSWCP will also be collaborating with other wound care and clinical societies throughout the Asia-Pacific region to encourage delegates to attend.</span></p>
<p>Kuala Lumpur, known as KL, is one of Asia's most iconic destinations. Delegates will find the city hugely welcoming &ndash; not only is it friendly and charming, but its warm climate and fantastic scenery make it an aspirational destination.</p>
<p>Development of the programme for the event is well underway and this will be published in due course. <p>Held in the South East, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow, the events are free to attend and delegates will receive a free guided-learning workbook to assist with their CPD. <p>As two of the most popular events in the wound care calendar, the <em>Wound Essentials</em> Skills Update and <em>Journal of Lymphoedema</em> Conferences will run in parallel on 27th June 2013 at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham, providing first-class, topical education for healthcare professionals caring for patients with wounds and lymphoedema, and the challenges they bring, both in the community and secondary care settings.</p>
<p>The <em>Wound Essentials</em> section of the programme will provide a succinct and practical update on some of the most common wound types, including pressure ulcers, leg ulcers and diabetic foot wounds. <br /><br /><em>The Journal of Lymphoedem</em>a Conference will deliver a lively mix of sessions, updating practitioners on the latest issues affecting service delivery and relevant areas of clinical care for patients with lymphoedema.</p>

<p>The National Conference of <em>The Diabetic Foot Journal</em> is now in its 14th year and will again provide healthcare professionals with a dynamic, topical and interactive learning event.</p>
<p>This year&rsquo;s conference is entitled &lsquo;Follow the 3 &lsquo;R&rsquo;s of diabetic foot care&rsquo; and sessions have been designed to examine common patient presentations, providing evidence-based and practical guidance to ensure effective assessment, investigation, treatment strategy and management.</p>
<p>At each stage of the patient journey with diabetic foot disease, examples of best practice from around the UK will be presented and there will also be a focus on the challenges and opportunities that face clinicians caring for the diabetic foot in the &ldquo;new&rdquo; NHS.</p>
